*We begin MAP testing next week! Third grade will be testing 4/30, 5/1, 5/2, and 5/3. Please make sure your third grader gets a good night of sleep, eats a filling breakfast, and is here on time. We will have no homework next week.
We will be having our poetry breakfast on Friday, May 10th from 7:40-8:20. The breakfast will be in our classroom, room 215. Please use the link below to sign up for food/drink. This is just to ensure we get a variety of food.
In the Classroom
In math this week, we have been preparing for the MAP test by reviewing concepts from the year. We will begin with the math part of the MAP test on Thursday.
We have been creating lots of poetry in room 215! This week students completed a personal inventory they used to create an acrostic poem. We also studied narrative poetry. Students will choose their poems to publish next week.
We have been discussing the MAP test during reading. We practiced moving our seats into rows and have been answering lots of questions about the test.
Our ecosystems grew grass! The students loved being able to see the living and non-living components working together in their ecosystem. We will be getting more living things next week as we start our Life Cycles unit. :)
