Announcements

Our field trip to Red Top Ranch in Hallsville is on Monday. We will be leaving Paxton around 11:00, eating lunch at the ranch around 11:30 (hamburger/cheeseburger, chips, and drink), and then exploring the ranch. We should be returning to Paxton around 2:00. Please have your third grader wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes.

We will be having our poetry breakfast on Friday, May 10th from 7:40-8:20. The breakfast will be in our classroom, room 215. Please use the link below to sign up for food/drink. This is just to ensure we get a variety of food.

Cooking up Fun Day!

Third grade will be celebrating the end of the year with their 5th Annual Cooking Celebration! On Friday, May 24, students will be rotating through the 5 classrooms to create yummy treats. We need your help to provide the supplies for this fun day! Please sign up for anything you can donate. Please note we need enough for all 5 classes, so that is why many things have 5 slots available. Supplies should be brought to school on Friday, May 24th. (You may send them earlier if they are non-perishables.) Thank you in advance for making this a fun day for our third graders!

In the Classroom

We are finished with MAP testing! The students worked hard and did great with staying in their seats.

We worked on publishing our poetry this week. The students are excited to share the finished product at our poetry breakfast on Friday.

In science, we started our final unit on Life Cycles. On Monday, we received our new visitors!

Hopefully some of the eggs will hatch during the school day, as it is always a very exciting sight to see! We will keep the chicks in our classroom until Friday morning, so families can see them at our breakfast.

We also explored plant life cycles with a "pollen" transfer activity.
