Announcements
We are officially done with MAP testing! The students worked hard these past two weeks, and I am proud of their great effort. You should receive the results over the summer or early fall.
To celebrate the end of MAP testing, the students completed a Breakout Box! There were 5 locks they had to open to get the treat inside. Students had to work together to figure out the clues that would give the combinations for the locks. It was challenging, but so much fun!
In the Classroom
We started our last unit, Measuring, this week when we weren't MAP testing. We will explore capacity and mass next week.
We are working hard on our ABC books of third grade. Most students have completed their first drafts and have started publishing their books. We will finish publishing these next week.
Students started a whole class book club on Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We are using this book to practice fluency and comprehension skills.
We have chicks! Ten of our twelve eggs hatched Monday night. The students have loved studying the life cycle of the chicks, especially when we got to see the chicks up close. The chicks were returned to the science department Friday morning.
